Entertainment Weekly’s Summer Must List…True Blood
Digital issue May 31/June 7, 2013 #1261
Ew please keep your pants on fairy-man.

The East review from Entertainment Weekly digital issue (May 31/June 7, 2013 - #1261)
Ugh. Entertainment Weekly reviews are my least favorite anywhere. Even if they are glowing positive ones. Talk about ham-fisted. “Milky, controlled coolness”? Blergh. What does a “milky coolness” even mean? Is there a dairy-type coolness I’m not aware of?
Entertainment Weekly is where entertainment journalism goes to, maybe not die, but definitely retire.
Maybe they’ve been drawing inspiration from CH’s sex metaphors.
Bwah! It’s possible they took a tour of “Yahoo Palace” on their way to write this. :))
Now all I can picture is anarchists having sex in the woods and the various unflattering comparisons to animals CH would feel the need to supply.
“Benji’s beard was fuzzy like a chipmunk. A sweaty, manly-smelling chipmunk.”
STAAAHP!
Oh c’mon, you know you love it.

Oh god, Sam is a true shifter. Now I’m going to be forever haunted by the thought of him actually turning into a seal during sex.

Alexander Skarsgård on Cooking Beef Bourguignon and Eating Food Off the Floor
Buy Nothing Day, an international protest against consumerism, inspired Alexander Skarsgård’s new film, The East. In the thriller, some of the characters practice freeganism: avoiding waste by reclaiming and eating discarded food. Off-camera, Skarsgård’s actually quite fond of freshly cooked food, and he became the chef of the cast (which includes Brit Marling and Ellen Page). At Monday’s screening of the film at Landmark’s Sunshine Cinema, Skarsgård shared his go-to recipes, thoughts on waste, and why his True Bloodcharacter, Eric, no longer just sees humans as food.
Brit [Marling] says that you’re actually a fabulous cook.
I enjoy it. What’s my thang? It’s different to cook for these guys, because they’re all vegans. I like to cook stews like beef bourguignon and coq au vin. I made them a lot of pasta and veggies. Zal [Batmanglij] and Brit had a house in Shreveport [Louisiana], and we would go and hang out there on weekends. We would hang out and cook and drink wine and dance and occasionally get some work done. One of the interesting ideas the film brings up is how much food is wasted in this country. Do you have a rule for how long food is on the floor before you don’t eat it?
I come from a very big, large family with tons of kids, so I’m pretty used to eating off the floor. With seven siblings, you grab whatever you can. We throw away so much good food in this country, and we don’t even think about how much we waste. We’ve created a society where we consume so much — not just food, but everything. And I’m not judging. I’m part of that system. It’s good to be aware of it.I’m hoping Eric gets something to do with the whole Warlow conspiracy on True Blood.
We’re shooting the last two episodes, and he might get involved in that. We’ll see. I’ve had a great time this year. It’s a big war going on. Humans are fighting back. They’ve figured out a way to actually be a real threat to vampires. They’ve always just been food to Eric. So, for the first time, he’s got to fight.(source)

Brit Marling and Alexander Skarsgård are generating anarchy—not to mention major heat—in The East.
“She is this spy and she goes in this group made up of anarchists, and she is moved by the leader, who is played by Alexander, so we have some steamy love scenes,” revealed Marling.
As for kissing Skarsgård, Marling added she had no complaints. “If we want to do a sequel that’s just kissing Alexander, I would be totally fine by that!” she said with a laugh.
For his part, Alexander told E! News he was drawn to the script for more intellectual reasons, such as the lack of corporate and government accountability in today’s society.
“What I loved about the way it was written was that it’s about a woman that works for a corporation and she infiltrates the group. But it’s not like she worked for the bad evil corporations and she fought side by side with them and she lived happily ever after,” he notes. “It’s much more in-depth than that. They don’t agree on everything within the group, and that is why it raised so many questions of morality.”
Skarsgård also gave E! News a preview of what’s in store for his bloodsucking alter ego, Eric Northman, onTrue Blood. “He is doing some evil stuff this year,” the thesp revealed with a smile, adding that it’s been fun dabbling in Eric’s darker side.
The East hits theaters on May 31, while True Blood’s new season debuts on HBO June 16.
